sticking point : (논의의 진행을 막는) 난제
something that people disagree about and that prevents progress from being made in discussions

ex. Her hobby is to mull over potential sticking point

the condition of the ground that makes it easy or hard for your feet to stay wehre you put them as you walk or run
used to describe the kind of relationship that exists between people, countries, etc

ex. She's been going out of her way to have a firm footing in this market.

become worse or make something worse or more severe
become greater or higher or to make sth greater or higher
escalatory : (특히 전쟁의)규모 확대에 연계되는
tending to escalate

ex. Using chemical weapons is the easiest way to aggravate tension and escalate violence.

화학 무기를 사용하는것이 긴장을 악화시키고 폭력을 확대하는 가장 쉬운 방법이죠.

Taking an escalatory step to bring about a war should be avoided if possible.
