mesmerizing / uncanny / dilapidated / hazy

 

*Some of examples are based on my experiences.

In other words, it could sound weird a bit.

몇몇은 제 경험에 기반한 예문들입니다.

다시말해서, 약간 이상할 수 있습니다.

 

mesmerizing : 최면을 걸듯 마음을 사로잡는, 완전 넋을 빼놓는
very attractive, in a mysterious way, making you want to keep looking

ex. Her diary was mesmerizing.

그녀의 일기는 완전 넋을 빼놓을 정도였죠.

I still remember her mesmerizing eyes.

여전히 그녀의 매혹적인 눈을 기억합니다.

I was mesmerized by the letter from him, but doubted if it is a good signal.

그의 편지에 마음이 사로잡혔지만, 그게 좋은 신호인지는 몰랐죠.

uncanny : 이상한, 묘한
strange or mysterious in a surprising or unsettling way

ex. We had an uncanny resemblance.

우리는 기이할 정도로 닮았습니다.

She has an uncanny ability to make me fall into a deep sleep.

그녀는 제가 깊은 잠에 빠지도록 하는 신기한 능력을 가지고 있어요.

I had an uncanny feeling I was being stalked.

누군가가 저를 스토킹하고 있다는 묘한 느낌이 들었어요.

 

dilapidated : 다 허물어져 가는
old and in poor condition

ex. We have to reform the dilapidated education system before it's too late.

너무 늦기 전에 황폐화된 교육 제도를 개혁해야 합니다.

Poverty and drugs have left many houses in the neighborhood dilapidated.

빈곤과 마약은 그 동네의 많은 집들을 거의 허물어질 지경으로 만들어놨습니다.

It was in an extremely dilapidated state but, nonetheless, it was a listed monument.

비록 심하게 허물어진 상태지만, 그것은 등재된 기념물입니다.

hazy : 실안개가 낀, 흐릿한 / (기억 등이)흐릿한 / 확신이 없는, 혼란스러워 하는
not clear(weather)
not clear(memory)

ex. It's the best to read a book in a cafe in this hazy weather.

흐릿한 날씨에는 카페에서 책을 읽는게 최고죠(:

My memories of teenhood are hazy and episodic thanks to the accident.

사고덕분일까요, 저의 십대 시절에 대한 기억은 흐릿하고 단편적입니다.

The memory about him is hazy.

그에 대한 기억이 희미합니다.

I'm a little hazy about what to do next.

전 다음에 뭘 해야 할지 잘 모르겠습니다.

Inside stories of the incident are hazy.

사건의 자세한 내막은 분명하지 않습니다.

This part is still sort of hazy to me.
