1. Diary
[ Sat, 17th Sep 2022 ]
Admit that too many of knotty webs
in my cave used to be under a false impression.
but, belief by itself didn't get me anything.
I had to take a responsibility
to fix the f*cking issue to better myself.
the more I suffered,
the more I craved for dream.
the more I encountered that,
the more energy levels I got.
And how funny I look everytime my dimples can't control their movement.
Recently, dacing over the moon keeps popping into my head.
mm.. feel like reality and my imagination conflate together(:
선과 악이 공존하는 매력적인 세상에
그냥 자꾸 웃음이 나온다.
가끔은
스스로를 꺼림칙하다고 생각하는 것도 좋지만,
적어도 내 가치관이 불순해지지만 않는다면
오차를 대범하게 받아들이는 것 또한 영양분이다.
그리고 이젠, 현재의 삶이 너무너무 감사해서
더더욱 간절한 꿈이다❤︎

emphatic : (진술, 대답이)강한 / (분명히)강조하는
making your meaning very clear because you have strong feelings about a situation or subject; done or said in a strong way
ex. I was emphatic in my assertion.
난 단호하게 주장했다.
Well, the answer is an emphatic yes.
당연히 '예스'지.
I am sorry to be a bit emphatic.
약간 단호하게 굴어서 미안해.
Her new album was an emphatic success!
그녀의 새 앨범은 대성공이었어!
glib : (못마땅)말을 잘 하는, 입심 좋은
speaking or spoken in a confident way, but without careful thought or honesty
ex. There're a lot of glib talking politicians.
입만 번지르하게 말하는 정치인들이 많아.
If that is not glib, what is it?
그게 말만 번지르르한 게 아니라면, 뭔데?
I don't mean to sound glib.
말만 그럴싸하게 하려는 건 아니에요.
articulate : 분명히 표현하다, 잘(분명히)표현하는
able to express your thought, arguments, and ideas clearly and effectively
ex. It's quite hard for me to articulate the way I felt at that time.
그때 내가 느꼈던 기분은 말로 표현하기가 꽤 어려워.
Make your writing brief and articulate.
글은 간단명료하게 써라.
I like your articulate pronunciation.
난 너의 뚜렷한 발음이 좋아.
prescient : 선견지명(예지력)이 있는
prophetic : 예언의, 예언적인
knowing or suggesting correctly what will happen in the future
ex. That was a prescient statement, and how right he was.
그건 예지력이 있는 주장이었고, 그가 정말로 옳았다.
See? I said this would happen, it did! Maybe, I was prophetic.
거봐, 이게 일어날거라고 했잖아! 어쩌면 내가 예지력을 발휘했나봐.
hyperbolic : 과장된, 과장법을 쓴
a way of speaking or writing that makes someone or something sound much more impressive than they are
ex. Many of these claims are hyperbolic.
주장들 중 많은 부분이 과장되었다.
You need to use adjectives hyperbolic enough to describe the content if 7+ is your goal in IELTS Speaking test.
아이엘츠 스피킹 시험에서 목표가 7이상이라면, 내용을 충분히 묘사도록 과장된 형용사를 사용할 필요가 있어.
hyperbole : 과장법
exaggeration
ex. This article is full of daft hyperbole.
이 기사는 바보같은 과장으로 넘쳐나.
[daft : (흔히 재미있게)바보같은(어리석은)
ex. what a daft thing to say! 무슨 바보같은 소리야!]
This is not hyperbole, it's purely a statement of fact.
이건 과장이 아니라 순전히 사실의 진술이다.
rhetorical : 수사적인, 미사여구식의
rhetorical speech or writing is intended to seem important or influence people
rhetorical question : 수사의문, 반문적 의문
a question asked in order to create a dramatic effect or to make a point rather than to get an answer
ex. I think that is a rhetoical question.
미사여구가 많은 질문이라고 생각해.
'Don't you care what I do?' she asked, but it was a rhetorical question.
'넌 내가 하는 거에 관심도 없어?' 그녀가 물었지만, 그건 수사의문문이었어.
I believe that is a rhetorical question although a very important one.
매우 중요한 질문이긴 하지만, 답을 듣기 위한 거라고는 생각하지 않아요.
unintelligible : 이해할 수 없는
not able to be understood
incomprehensible
ex. His work is almost unintelligible without explanation.
그의 작품은 설명이 없으면 거의 이해할 수 없어.
To be honest, your script is unintelligible.
솔직히 말해서, 너 글씨는 이해하기 힘들어.
verbose : 장황한
using more words than necessary, and therefore may be long and bo ring
ex. Some can't speak and some are verbose.
몇몇은 말을 못하고 몇몇은 너무 장황해
I find him quite verbose.
난 그가 꽤 떠벌리는 성격이란 걸 알게되었어.
Well, that was an emphatic verbose discussion.
음, 완전히 장황한 논의였어.
flippant : 경솔한, 건방진
not serious about a serious topic, in an attempt to be funny or to appear smart
(≒ facetious : 경박한, 까부는)
ex. I am sorry if I appeared flippant; I was not meaning to be.
경솔해 보였다면 미안해요. 그러려던 건 아니었어요.
