teetotaler : 절대 금주하는 사람
someone who never drinks alcohol

ex. A: Could you live without alcohol?

술 없이 살 수 있습니까?

B: Yes, I'm a teetotaler, so I don't need alcohol.

네, 저는 절대 금주를 주장하는 사람이어서 술이 필요 없습니다.

I used to be a teetotaler, but now it's hard for me to relax without drinking.

저는 절대 금주하는 사람이었지만, 지금은 술 없이 편안해지지 않습니다.

She became teetotaler since her father was an alcoholic who made her suffer terribly.

술주정뱅이였던 아버지 때문에 고통받았었기 때문에 그녀는 금주가가 되었습니다.

hair of the dog (that bit you) : 해장술, 숙취일 때 마시는 술, 과음 후 마시는 술
an alcoholic drink that is taken by someone to feel better after having drunk too much at an earlier time

ex. A: What is a good remedy for a hangover?

숙취에 좋은 처방으로 어떤 것이 있습니까?

B: Having a little "hair of the dog that bit you" is the best cure I know.

"해장술"을 조금 마시는 것이 제가 알기에는 가장 좋은 치료법입니다.

This hair of the dog that bit you will help cure a hangover.

이 해장술이 숙취를 해소하는 데 도움을 줄 거예요.

What she needs is a hair of the dog.

slur one's words : (보통 술이 취하거나 피곤해서)불분명하게 발음(말)하다
speak unclearly

ex. A: How do you act when you get drunk?

술에 취했을 때 넌 어떤 행동을 하니?

B: I slur my words.

말이 꼬여.

Her words started to slur on the booze.

술에 취해 그녀는 혀가 꼬부라졌습니다.

I hope I don't slur my words in the presentation.

그 발표에서 말이 꼬이지 않기를 바래요.
