far-fetched : 믿기지 않는, 설득력이 없는
unlikely to be true or unrealistic

ex. You know your words sound far-fetched?

당신도 당신 말이 억지스럽다는 거 알죠?

What I am saying is far fetched a little, but isn't it worth a note to have in mind?

제가 말하는 바가 약간 설득력이 없겠지만, 그래도 염두해 둘 가치가 있지 않을까요?

I know this story is far-fetched but, it's true that she held my interest on a purel visceral level.

이 이야기가 믿기지 않는다는거 압니다. 하지만, 본능적인 수준에서 그녀가 내 흥미를 이끌었던건 사실이죠.

tell very obvious lies without being embarrassed

ex. Her appearance is mesmerizing, and even she is a smart cookie but I swear to you that she will lie through her teeth.

그녀의 외모는 넋을 빼놓을 정도이죠. 심지어 그녀는 똑똑하지만 맹세컨데 아주 새빨간 거짓말을 할 거에요.

Are you going to keep lying through your teeth? Now, no wonder that nose of yours is extending Pinocchio.

I told him that I got over her, but the truth is I lied through my teeth.

meet someone for the first time and come to know them slightly

ex. I made the acquaintance of her from an elevator.

전 엘레베이터에서 그녀를 알게 됬습니다.

I don't remember when I made your acquaintance after the hypnosurgery.

최면수술 이후로, 당신을 알게 된 때가 기억나지 않습니다.

I made an angel's acquaintance.

저는 한 천사와 아는 사이가 되었습니다.
