far-fetched : 믿기지 않는, 설득력이 없는
unlikely to be true or unrealistic

ex. You know your words sound far-fetched?

당신도 당신 말이 억지스럽다는 거 알죠?

What I am saying is far fetched a little, but isn't it worth a note to have in mind?

제가 말하는 바가 약간 설득력이 없겠지만, 그래도 염두해 둘 가치가 있지 않을까요?

I know this story is far-fetched but, it's true that you held my interest on a visceral level.

이 이야기가 믿기지 않는다는거 압니다. 하지만, 본능적인 수준에서 당신이 제 흥미를 이끌었던건 사실이죠.

[ visceral : (깊은 사고가 아닌)강한 감정에 의한, 본능적인 / 내장의

ex. There is a visceral connection between the two.

두사람 사이엔 본능적인 연결이 있어요.

That has a visceral effect on me.

그건 제게 적나라한 효과가 있었죠.

멜과 운동하는건 체지방, 심지어 내장지방까지 감소시켜주지- ]

 

lie through one's teeth : 새빨간 거짓말을 하다
tell very obvious lies without being embarrassed

ex. Her appearance is mesmerizing, and even she is a smart cookie but I swear to you that she will lie through her teeth.

그녀의 외모는 넋을 빼놓을 정도이죠. 심지어 그녀는 똑똑하지만 맹세컨데 아주 새빨간 거짓말을 할 거에요.

Are you going to keep lying through your teeth? Now, no wonder that nose of yours is extending Pinocchio.

자꾸 거짓말을 할거야? 너 코가 길어지는 건 당연한거야, 이 피노키오야.

I told him that I got over her, but the truth is I lied through my teeth.

저는 그에게 제가 그녀를 잊었다고 말했지만 사실은 이거죠. 새빨간 거짓말을 했답니다.

inflict : (괴로움 등을)가하다(안기다)
inflict on : -에 영향(타격)을 주다
inflict oneself/sb/sth on sb : (원치 않는 누군가에게)-를 귀찮게 하다, -를 맡기다
make sb or sth painful and suffering

ex. I'm aware of how to inflict pain on me.

제게 고통을 가하는 방법을 잘 알고있습니다.

This is what you want to inflict on me isn’t it?

이게 내게 해주고 싶은 복수라는 거지?

I didn't mean to inflict myself on you like this.

당신을 귀찮게 하려던 건 아니었어요.

The couple inflicted their pet on me for the weekend out of the blue.

그 부부는 난데없이 주말동안 그들의 애완동물을 제게 맡겼죠.
