sepulchral / dingy / dismal

 

These examples are written by me.

In other words, it could sound weird a bit.

or maybe a lot.

 

sepulchral : 음침한, 장례식(무덤)같은
very sad and serious, very dismal or gloomy

ex. Her style was, so to speak, sepulchral but sophisticated.

그녀의 스타일은 소위 말해서 음침했지만, 세련되었죠.

Why are you looking at me with sepulchral eyes?

왜 음침한 눈으로 저를 바라보는 거죠?

I was flabbergasted with a sepulchral whisper, which was actually nothing but his prank.

음침한 속삭임에 크게 놀랐지만 사실상 그의 장난에 불과했죠.

 

 

dingy : 우중충한, 거무칙칙한

dark and dirty, not fresh or clean

ex. A: Any idea what color I should go with?

무슨 컬러로 해야 할지 좋은 생각있니?

B: I like dingy like my character.

내 성격처럼 우중충한게 좋은걸.

At least, I didn't want to stay in a dingy room.

적어도 전 지저분한 곳에선 머무르고 싶지 않았어요.

This dingy office space urgently need chaning whole interior.

이 우중충한 사무실은 전체 인테리어를 바꿀 필요가 시급합니다.

 

 

dismal : 음울한, 울적하게 하는 / 질낮은, 솜씨(형편)없는

showing or causing unhappiness or sad feelings; not warm, cheerful, etc

ex. This cramming education will cause a dismal future with the long term.

장기적 관점으로 보았을 때, 이 주입식 교육은 어두운 미래를 야기할 겁니다.

Her appearance turned the dismal atmosphere into a lively one.

그녀의 갑작스러운 등장은 음울한 분위기를 활기차게 바꿔놨죠.

Who the hell made you put on such a dismal countenance?

대체 이리 울적한 표정을 짓게 만든 사람 누구야?
