1.

Piece of cake
: 식은 죽 먹기
refers to something that is easy

ex. That job is so easy. It’s a piece of cake!

그 일은 아주 쉬워. 식은 죽 먹기야!

 

 

2.

to run late / to run behind
: 늦다 / -보다 뒤지다,-의 뒤를 달리다
..to be late for something
..to run behind schedule

ex. I think the meeting will run late. How about if I give you a call tomorrow?

회의가 늦어질 것 같으니까, 내일 제가 전화를 드리겠습니다.

I’m runnning a little behind schedule.

예정보다 약간 늦어질 것 같습니다.

 

3.

to get the hang of (sth)
: -을 할(쓸) 줄 알게 되다, -을 이해하다
to learn sth that is not obvious

ex. It’s not difficult once you get the hang of it.

일단 이해만 하면 그게 어렵지는 않다.

I’ll try to get the hang of things quickly.

조속히 업무를 파악하도록 노력하겠습니다.

Once you get the hang of if, it’s pretty easy.

일단 감을 잡으면, 상당히 쉬워요.

all set
: 만반의 준비가 되어
(= good to go)
saying that someone is ready or everything is in order.

ex. All set?

Are you all set for the meeting?

회의 준비는 다 됐어요?

I’m all set, so let’s get going.

5.

to sound like a broken record
: 똑같은 말을 반복하다
to repeat the same information again and again

ex. Sorry to sound like a broken record, but it is what it is.

같은 말만 해서 미안합니다만, 그게 그건데 어쩌겠어요.

I know I sound like a broken record, but you work too hard.

내가 같은 말을 되풀이하는거 알지만, 넌 너무 열심히 일을 한다.

to pitch in
: 일에 본격 착수하다; 협력하다; 부담(기여)하다
to start doing something as a group, especially something that is helpful

ex. Why don’t some of you pitch in?

: 화, 울분을 터뜨리다
to do or say something to help you get rid of some energy

ex. I totally need to blow off some steam.

Need to blow off some steam after a stressful day? A workout at the gym or a brisk 30-minute walk can help you calm down.

it’s not rocket science
: 고도의 지능이 요구되는 일이 아니다(지극히 쉬운 일이다)
to say something is not difficult and should be easy to understand

ex. Go on, you can do it. It’s not exactly rocket science, is it?

자 자, 너는 할 수 있어. 어려운 일이 아니야, 안 그래?

There is a solution of course, and it’s not rocket science.

물론 해결책이 있지, 그리고 그건 그렇게 어려운 문제가 아니야.

to postpone a discussion until a later time

ex. We can table this discussion for a later date.

: 우세한 편에 붙다
to start supporting something or doing something because it’s trendy

ex. She has always had her own ideas about things. She’s not the kind of person to jump on the bandwagon.

그녀는 모든 일에 있어서 자신의 생각대로 한다. 인기 있는 쪽에 붙는 그런 일을 하는 사람은 아니다.

It is easy to jump on the bandwagon.

대세에 따르는 것이 쉽다.
